Unity: changing racism towards equality, compassion, and love
Today, the world is in great transition. We have the great opportunity and potential to start creating a world of equality, in more prevalent and permanent ways. This change requires we also transform ourselves. The injustices of racism have been brought to the forefront, and it is unfortunate that change comes at a high price, and that racism has been prevalent for far too long. In the immortal words of Martin Luther King, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We must work together as a whole to end injustices everywhere.
Racism is a combination of judgement, fear, and hate. Abraham Lincoln said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” The possibility of unity, justice, and peace is only met when we come together through the power of love and compassion for all. We must choose to embrace one another as a soul family. There is not one person that is the same as anyone else. Have you ever wondered why EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US is different? We are not meant to be the same! Only by accepting and embracing each other can we learn from each other and see the value of the different qualities and gifts we possess. The human spirit is the spark of light that connects us all. Love resides in all of us and it is time we extend that love to everyone. Each of us have the choice to put that love into action for justice, unity, and equality to prevail.
To the Black community, I wanted to express my sorrow for the injustice, hate, and racism you have endured. With an encouraged heart, I wanted to express my hope and support to everyone who is coming to realize how important we are to each other as fellow human beings and making the changes within and without.
Change happens with one person at a time, until the whole world changes; life depends on it.
Be the Hero your Heart knows you are.
